Being a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is belonging to the greatest electrical Union and the largest body of highly skilled electricians in the World. That membership will potentially provide you with three pensions as well as Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Vision Insurance. You will also earn a wage that will enable you to provide for your family in a way that they deserve.

Most of us have limited bargaining power as one person, but as a group, we are strong. As union members, we bargain collectively with our employers over wages, benefits and rights. The IBEW negotiates wages for you, no longer do you have to go to the employer only to be promised something that never comes to pass. All wages and benefits with the IBEW are in contract form, so you know exactly what you will be getting.  And, with a good and properly negotiated contract, there are legal protections that would not otherwise exist.

IBEW Local 16 has a state of the art training facility for its apprentices and journeymen. Apprentices attend class at no cost to them. The IBEW and its contractors pay for the classes as well as books. That same training facility also offers numerous journeymen training classes. These classes are designed to help the journeyman in areas he feels a little weak and to help them keep up on an ever changing industry.
